What does this template record?

An irrigation inspection checklist records observations zone by zone, including whether operation was observed, visible leaks, coverage, overspray, emitter condition and any measured pressure or flow. Reference the controller and zone plan so another person can find the same location and understand the limits of the visit.

Last updated . Facts checked by the SiteSurvey team on 9 October 2026 against Rain Bird irrigation maintenance check sheet.

How to make this record useful

Leak or assessment limitation

Zone 3, east bed: operation observed; leak visible at the emitter connection beside the path. Remaining coverage observed from accessible areas. No instrument pressure reading taken. Repair request IR-WO-003 raised; no controller settings changed.

Fictional example. Record the actual evidence and approved arrangements for your job.

A common recording mistake

“No leak seen” and “not assessed” describe different evidence. If the zone was not operated or could not be accessed, record the limitation instead of implying a successful operating check.

What happens next

Assign the repair and record any authorised settings changes with their reference. Link a separate pump maintenance or leak investigation record when work extends beyond the zone observations.

Every question in the irrigation inspection template

Record irrigation zones, controller references, visible leakage, coverage observations and follow-up work for an irrigation visit. 3 sections and 22 questions. Follow-up questions and guidance appear only when an answer calls for them, so the person on site never sees the ones that do not apply.

Make it your own: every question is editable

This is a starting point, not a fixed form. Once it is in your SiteSurvey account you can reword any question, add or remove questions, sections and answer options, and add your own logo, so it fits the way your team works and the jobs you do.

Details you only enter once

Add this form to a project in SiteSurvey and it fills in what the project already knows, so nobody on site retypes it and every form on the job uses the same names. Anything filled in can still be changed.

Irrigation inspection FAQs

How does this differ from related templates?

This record follows irrigation zones and distribution performance. Pump maintenance owns the pump asset; the PPM checklist owns the general maintenance schedule.

Does this calculate irrigation demand or efficiency?

No. Record observations and any measured figures with their units. Use the system design and approved audit method for calculations and settings.
