How does AR floor plan capture work?
You walk the rooms with your phone and tap from corner to corner. SiteSurvey measures each wall in augmented reality and builds the plan as you go, with doors, windows and stairs marked where you pass them. Each room becomes a space the office can open on the web, with everything captured there attached.

01 · Capture
Point, tap, mark the openings, lock the length.
Nothing to set up and nothing to draw. Map room after room in one session and name each space as you finish it. Recorded on an iPhone in a real house.
1. Tap corner to cornerAim at a corner and tap. The length lands in the room and the wall joins the plan.
2. Mark a windowTap Window, then the two edges. It goes onto the plan at its real width.
3. Mark a doorSame for doors and stairs: mark them as you pass.
4. Adjust it, then lock itKnow a wall is 8 m? Slide to it and tap Lock. The opposite wall snaps to it.

02 · Elevations
Measure what the plan cannot tell you.
Inside a space, choose Elevation (Wall) and tap corner to corner on the wall or opening. Measure door heights, wall drops and mounting positions with no tape measure. Works on iPhone and Android.
- Pick what you are measuring. Floor plan for the footprint, Elevation (Wall) for a wall run.
- Lengths as you go. Each segment shows its measurement in the room.
- Saved to the space. Named, stored with the room and synced to the web.

03 · On the web
The office opens the same building the engineer just walked.
Saving the walk creates a space for every room and syncs the layout. The project's Spaces tab shows the floor on the Map; click any room to open its products, forms, files and activity.

The App capture toggle shows the plan with zoom, pan and dimensions, and downloads it as a PNG or PDF.
Not a CAD file
There is no DXF or DWG export. Use the PNG or PDF in reports, and draw in your CAD package where you need an editable drawing.
04 · Got a drawing already?
Upload the plan and pin the rooms instead.
If the building already has drawings, upload a plan for each floor in the web dashboard and place the project's spaces on it. Pins are numbered, named and coloured by progress, and open the space when clicked.

What is an AR floor plan app?
An AR floor plan app uses the phone's camera and motion sensors to measure rooms as you walk them and draw the floor plan for you. The best floor plan app for site surveys is one that gives you a usable plan on the day and ties the rest of the survey to it. If you need a measured building survey or detailed CAD drawings, use a specialist survey tool or a surveyor. What phone do I need?
AR scanning is available in the mobile app on iPhone, and iPhones with a LiDAR scanner, such as the Pro models, give the most accurate measurements. On Android the app captures elevations. No other hardware is needed.
Can I correct a measurement I already know?
Yes. Slide the length to the value you know is right and tap Lock. The locked length is trusted and the opposite wall snaps to it.
Can I use an existing drawing instead?
Yes. In the web dashboard, upload a plan for each floor as a PNG or JPG (export it from your PDF or CAD drawing first) and place the project's spaces on it as pins. A PDF is accepted, but pins can only be placed on image plans.
Can I export the plan to CAD?
No. A plan captured in the app can be viewed on the web with zoom, pan and dimensions and downloaded as a PNG or PDF, but there is no DXF, DWG or other CAD export.
Does it work without signal?
Yes. The scan saves to the device first, so you can keep working without signal and it uploads on the next sync.
What happens to the plan in the office?
Saving the walk creates a space for every room and syncs the layout. Office users see the whole floor on the Map in the web dashboard, click into any room and find the products, forms, photos and sign-off captured there.
Can I measure walls and door heights as well?
Yes. Inside a space, switch to elevation and tap corner to corner to measure door heights, wall drops and mounting positions that a floor plan does not show.
