What does this template record?
A line clearance checklist records the change from one production run to the next: the previous job, remaining materials and labels, cleaning evidence, next-run references and the named release decision. Record exceptions against the specific check so a held line has a traceable reason and follow-up.
Last updated . Facts checked by the SiteSurvey team on 9 October 2026 against SafetyCulture line clearance example.
How to make this record useful
Previous labels and documents removed — exception note
Packaging line 2, station 3: one roll of JOB-100 labels remains in the dispenser. Next job JOB-101 is recorded, but the line is held pending removal and a repeat check by the line lead.
Fictional example. Record the actual evidence and approved arrangements for your job.
A common recording mistake
Do not use a general “all clear” comment when an item remains unresolved. Keep the old and new job references separate and record who supplied the release decision.
What happens next
Record the repeat check and authorised decision under the site procedure. Link to the job traveller for subsequent operations and to first article inspection for the first produced item; clearance alone does not release a product batch.

Answer a few questions and watch it adapt. Your answers are not saved, and any photos you add are deleted within the hour.
This is the real form as your team would use it: questions appear as you answer, scores work themselves out and you can add photos and signatures. No sign-up needed.

Every question in the line clearance template
Record the previous batch clearance, next-run document checks and the named release decision for a production line. 3 sections and 25 questions. Follow-up questions and guidance appear only when an answer calls for them, so the person on site never sees the ones that do not apply.
Make it your own: every question is editable
This is a starting point, not a fixed form. Once it is in your SiteSurvey account you can reword any question, add or remove questions, sections and answer options, and add your own logo, so it fits the way your team works and the jobs you do.
Details you only enter once
Add this form to a project in SiteSurvey and it fills in what the project already knows, so nobody on site retypes it and every form on the job uses the same names. Anything filled in can still be changed.

Line clearance FAQs
How does this differ from related templates?
This record covers one line between production runs. Internal audits review the wider quality system; first article inspection records the first produced item.
Does completing the checklist release a batch?
No. Record the authorised person’s decision under the site procedure. Product or batch release remains a separate process.
