What does this template record?

A job traveller accompanies a manufacturing job through an ordered sequence of operations. It records the part and drawing revision, material reference, operator, instruction revision, quantities, inspection evidence and any hold or rework. Use separate operation entries so the handover shows exactly where work stopped.

Last updated . Facts checked by the SiteSurvey team on 9 October 2026 against ScanPath job traveller template.

How to make this record useful

Hold or rework explanation

Operation 20, drilling: 18 completed and 2 held for hole-position review against drawing BR-4 revision C. Inspection record QC-402 covers the finding. The two held pieces are identified separately for the next operator.

Fictional example. Record the actual evidence and approved arrangements for your job.

A common recording mistake

Do not treat the sum of quantities from successive operations as the number of finished parts. The same pieces may pass through cutting, drilling and finishing; each count describes that operation.

What happens next

Record the rework or review decision and hand over the current operation status. Link first article or other inspection evidence by reference. This record does not provide live production scheduling or automatic product release.

Every question in the job traveller template

Track a manufacturing job through its operation sequence, with material references, completed quantities, inspection evidence and outstanding work. 3 sections and 21 questions. Follow-up questions and guidance appear only when an answer calls for them, so the person on site never sees the ones that do not apply.

Make it your own: every question is editable

This is a starting point, not a fixed form. Once it is in your SiteSurvey account you can reword any question, add or remove questions, sections and answer options, and add your own logo, so it fits the way your team works and the jobs you do.

Details you only enter once

Add this form to a project in SiteSurvey and it fills in what the project already knows, so nobody on site retypes it and every form on the job uses the same names. Anything filled in can still be changed.

Job traveller FAQs

How does this differ from related templates?

This traveller follows a non-food manufacturing job through multiple operations. A work order owns the service request; food traceability owns food lots; first article inspection owns first-piece results.

Can I record rework?

Yes. Add the rework operation and its instruction reference, retain the earlier result and record the new quantity and inspection evidence.
