What does this template record?

A linen inventory sheet separates clean stock, items in use, laundry stock and damaged or quarantined pieces at a stated count time. Record the linen type, size and counting unit, then compare the counts with the expected total and explain any discrepancy. This template stores entered figures; it does not calculate totals.

Last updated . Facts checked by the SiteSurvey team on 9 October 2026 against CPCON linen inventory template.

How to make this record useful

Reconciliation and discrepancy explanation

Double flat sheets, pieces, 10:00 count: 40 clean + 30 in use + 25 at laundry + 2 quarantined = 97. Expected total 100. Three remain unaccounted for; check the laundry dispatch record before adjusting the expected stock.

Fictional example. Record the actual evidence and approved arrangements for your job.

A common recording mistake

Do not count a laundry bag as one piece or count the same returned linen in both clean stock and laundry stock. Record the cutoff time and how movements during the count were handled.

What happens next

Reconcile the dispatch and return records, investigate missing stock and document any approved adjustment. Use a new dated count for the next reconciliation so the earlier discrepancy remains traceable.

Linen inventory sheet FAQs

How does this differ from related templates?

This sheet reconciles linen across storage, rooms and laundry. A stock take remains the general inventory owner; room inspections assess room readiness.

Should laundry stock be included?

Yes. Record linen in the laundry separately from clean storage and items in use. Use one counting unit and avoid counting the same batch in two locations.
