Job quote template
A quote site survey for any trade. Record the customer and what they want, measure and photograph each item or area, note access and working conditions, then price one or more options with VAT, a lead time and the quote's validity. If the customer agrees the work at home, the form reminds you of the 14-day cancellation rule and records that you gave the cancellation information. Every question is listed below, and you can fill the live form in on this page.

What should a job quote include?
A job quote should include the customer and site, what the work covers, measurements and quantities for each item, the materials, any exclusions and assumptions, the price for each option with VAT shown, the lead time, how long the quote is valid, and the deposit and payment terms. If the customer agrees it at their home, they can cancel a service contract within 14 days of the day it was made, and must be given the cancellation information.
Last updated . Facts checked by the SiteSurvey team on 17 October 2026 against regulation 29 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 31 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 36 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and HSE: introduction to asbestos.

Every question in the job quote template
A job quote site survey: the customer, what they want, measurements and photos for each item, access and working conditions, priced options with VAT, and the cancellation information for quotes agreed at home. 5 sections and 49 questions. Follow-up questions and guidance appear only when an answer calls for them, so the person on site never sees the ones that do not apply.
Make it your own: every question is editable
This is a starting point, not a fixed form. Once it is in your SiteSurvey account you can reword any question, add or remove questions, sections and answer options, and add your own logo, so it fits the way your team works and the jobs you do.
Details you only enter once
Add this form to a project in SiteSurvey and it fills in what the project already knows, so nobody on site retypes it and every form on the job uses the same names. Anything filled in can still be changed.

Job quote FAQs
Can a customer cancel a quote they signed at home?
Usually, yes. Under regulation 29 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, a consumer can cancel a contract made away from your business premises, such as in their home, within the cancellation period without giving a reason. For a service, the period ends 14 days after the day the contract is made. You must give them the cancellation information and a model cancellation form; under regulation 31, if you do not, the period can run on for up to 12 months.
Can I start work within the 14 days?
Only if the customer asks. Regulation 36 says you must not begin a service within the cancellation period unless the consumer has made an express request and, for an off-premises contract, made it on a durable medium such as paper or email. The form asks whether the customer has asked in writing.
How does the form price options?
Add as many options as you like, each with what is included, a price before VAT, the VAT rate and a lead time. The form works out the price including VAT for each option. Record the quote's validity date, deposit and payment terms, and exclusions.
What site details does it record?
Parking, allowed working hours, power, water, a toilet and storage on site, and things to plan for such as pets, children at home, furniture to move, waste removal, narrow access or possible asbestos. Possible asbestos shows a warning not to disturb suspect materials until they are checked; HSE says buildings constructed after 2000 are unlikely to contain asbestos.
Can the customer sign on the day?
Yes. The customer can choose an option and sign on your phone or tablet, and you sign as the surveyor. The quote can then be sent as a PDF report or a share link from the SiteSurvey app.
Who is this for?
Builders, joiners, kitchen fitters, electricians, plumbers, roofers, decorators and any trade that visits a customer to measure up before pricing a job.
