Expenses

What does SiteSurvey read from a receipt?

The supplier, date, total paid, receipt number, a suggested category and each priced line with its amount, including discounts. It does not split VAT.

From the photograph, SiteSurvey fills in a description of what was bought, the total paid, the supplier, the date and the receipt number, and suggests a category: Materials, Travel, Subcontractor, Consumables, Equipment hire or Other.

It also reads each priced line on the receipt with its description and amount. Discounts come through as their own negative lines, so the lines add up to the total. In the web portal, SiteSurvey compares the lines with the total and flags the expense if they do not match, so a misread price is caught.

It reads the total paid. It does not split net and VAT, read quantities or unit prices, or file tax returns. Everything it fills in can be checked and edited before or after saving.
