The project's Expenses view shows one job. Reporting, Expenses shows the spend across all of them for the period you choose, totalled by project and by category, ready to export for the accounts team.
  1. 01

    Open Reporting

In the web portal, open Reporting and choose Expenses at the top of the page. Reporting is on The Works plan. It is not shown to Base or viewer users.

  2. 02

    Choose the period

Pick This week, Last week or This month, or choose Custom and set your own start and end dates.

  3. 03

    Filter what you need

Narrow the report to particular projects, customers or categories. The totals at the top show the spend, the number of projects and the number of categories for what is selected.

  4. 04

Read it by project or by category

Switch between By project and By category. Each row shows its lines and total; expand a row to see the expenses behind it.

  5. 05

    Export it

Select Export CSV or Export Excel. The file contains the expenses in your current filters, ready for your accounts package or a client recharge.

Good to know

  • ✓There is no direct sync to Xero, QuickBooks or Sage. Export CSV or Excel and import it there.
  • ✓Timesheets has the same layout: switch to it from the top of the Reporting page. See Report on timesheets in Reporting.
