Gutter clearance report

A before and after record of gutter clearance. Record how the gutters were reached, then each run or elevation with its length and how blocked it was, before and after photos, whether the downpipes were flushed and any damage. The form totals the length cleared and counts fully blocked runs, records defects such as leaking joints or broken brackets, and gets the customer's signature. Every question is listed below, and you can fill the live form in on this page.

What should a gutter cleaning report show?

A gutter cleaning report should show each run cleared, how blocked it was, before and after photos, whether the downpipes were flushed and are running, and any defects found, such as leaking joints, sagging brackets, cracked sections or fascia damage, with recommendations. The photos are the proof of work, since the customer often cannot see into the gutters.

Last updated . Facts checked by the SiteSurvey team on 17 October 2026 against regulation 6 of the Work at Height Regulations 2005 (avoidance of risks from work at height), HSE: introduction to working at height safely and HSE: safe use of ladders and stepladders.

Walk Cam route · four guided clips

Record the gutter clearance on video

Show the whole rainwater route before focusing on a joint, outlet and downpipe. Give a repairer the location and visible evidence without claiming a flow test.

Identify the building and elevation. Record the visible run, then an accessible joint, outlet and downpipe route. Use safe ground-level views or authorised access only.

Visual evidence page from the gutter condition visual inspection sample report, with footage stills and observations

This is a visual condition record. It does not prove internal blockage, leak rate, falls, fixing strength or the source of damp. Do not climb, lean out or work at height merely to collect footage. Example footage was generated in Google Flow and the observations are scripted; no real site is shown. Walk Cam works inside any form in the app. How Walk Cam works · All visual inspections

Every question in the gutter clearance template

A gutter clearance report with before and after photos: access method, each elevation's length and blockage, downpipes flushed, defects found, recommendations and the customer's signature. 3 sections and 35 questions. Follow-up questions and guidance appear only when an answer calls for them, so the person on site never sees the ones that do not apply.

Make it your own: every question is editable

This is a starting point, not a fixed form. Once it is in your SiteSurvey account you can reword any question, add or remove questions, sections and answer options, and add your own logo, so it fits the way your team works and the jobs you do.

Details you only enter once

Add this form to a project in SiteSurvey and it fills in what the project already knows, so nobody on site retypes it and every form on the job uses the same names. Anything filled in can still be changed.

Gutter clearance FAQs

Why take before and after photos?

Customers rarely see inside their gutters. Before and after photos of each run show the work was done and justify the price.

What about working at height?

The Work at Height Regulations 2005 say work must not be done at height where it can reasonably be done safely another way. HSE advises doing as much as possible from the ground, using ladders only for light work of short duration (a maximum of 30 minutes at a time), and not resting a ladder against weak surfaces such as plastic gutters. The form records the access used.

Does it total the length?

Yes. Enter each run's length and the form shows the total cleared, which helps with pricing and repeat visits.

Can I quote for repairs?

Yes. Record the defects found and add a recommendation and price, so the customer can approve the repair from the report.

Does the customer sign?

Yes. The customer signs on your phone and the report goes as a PDF or a link.

Who uses this?

Gutter cleaning companies, window cleaners, roofers, property maintenance firms and housing providers.
