How do I add photo capture to a site survey form?

Add a photo field to any SiteSurvey form in seconds. Photos are geotagged and timestamped automatically, and stored alongside the form submission.

Adding photo capture to a site survey form is done by dragging a Photo field into your form in the SiteSurvey form builder. You can allow single or multiple photos per field, set a minimum or maximum number of images, and make the field required so that operatives cannot submit without providing visual evidence.

When an operative completes a photo field on site, the app opens the device camera directly. Each image is automatically tagged with the GPS coordinates and timestamp at the moment of capture. This metadata is embedded in the photo file and also recorded in the submission record, providing a reliable evidential trail.

Photos are stored securely and linked to the specific form submission, project, and location. They can be viewed in the SiteSurvey web portal, included in automated PDF reports, or exported for use in other systems. Thumbnail previews appear inline when reviewing submissions, so managers do not need to open each image individually.

Photo fields can also be combined with conditional logic. For example, a photo can be required only when an inspection answer is marked as a defect or non-conformance, avoiding unnecessary images for items that pass. Annotation tools allow operatives to mark up photos with arrows or text before submitting.
